The best keeps getting better. ePropulsion has officially released Spirit 1.0 Plus electric outboard, a new model within Spirit series. A Spirit 1.0 Plus and a Spirit 1.0 have the same 3HP power, size, and weight. They look the same except the model name on the tiller. Spirit 1.0 Plus is designed to replace Spirit 1.0, and let’s see the major improvements in this blog.
1276 Wh Battery
Spirit 1.0 Plus features a 1276 Wh battery, 25% more capacity than the 1018 Wh battery on Spirit 1.0. And it keeps the same weight and size because of the higher energy density, thanks to the battery technology development. With this battery, Spirit 1.0 delivers 50% more runtime than Torqeedo Travel 1103C at full throttle.
Metal Electrical Connector
To make the power connector more robust and durable, we replace the plastic connector with a metal connector, made of high-quality stainless steel, on Spirit 1.0 Plus. The PVD (physical vapor deposition) processing makes it simply corrosion-resistant. You will also find an electrical connector protective cap on Spirit 1.0 Plus that you don’t find on the Spirit 1.0.
48V Operating Voltage
Spirit 1.0 Plus works at 48V, while Spirit 1.0 works at 40V. The 48V operating voltage allows Spirit 1.0 Plus to work with an external battery to extend the range. ePropulsion original E-Series LFP batteries are recommended. You could learn more information about E-Series batteries in this blog. To work with an external battery, we also have an optional cowling to replace the Spirit battery. It’s for looking good after you remove the Spirit battery.
(Note: Batteries between Spirit 1.0 Plus and Spirit 1.0 cannot be swapped.)
Spirit 1.0 is not obsolete at all that it has a longer runtime than the latest product from the competitors. If your local dealer has Spirit 1.0, it could be a great option.
However, the new Spirit Plus will offer you a longer range, more battery options and updated technology.
