ePropulsion Unveils eCore at Cannes Yachting Festival, Redefining Onboard Energy Management

ePropulsion, a global leader in marine electric propulsion systems and services, will unveil its new eCore Energy Management System at the Cannes Yachting Festival, introducing an intelligent, integrated approach to managing propulsion and onboard power for modern cruising vessels and catamarans.

As vessels become increasingly electrified and owners expect greater levels of comfort and capability onboard, managing multiple power sources, batteries, propulsion systems and hotel loads can create complicated installations. eCore addresses this challenge by centralising energy management and reducing the need for multiple standalone components and extensive internal wiring.

Designed to deliver Smart Energy Management for Modern Mariners, eCore acts as the intelligent heart of a vessel’s power network, bringing energy generation, storage, propulsion and onboard consumption together within one integrated platform. The system can manage multiple energy sources, including shore power, diesel generation, solar and hydrogeneration, alongside electric propulsion and AC and DC onboard loads.

At the heart of the system are two complementary components: eCore 96VDC, the main energy management unit, and the optional eCore AC module.

eCore 96VDC manages the flow of power around the vessel, working alongside the optional eCore AC module to provide flexible management of both DC and AC power. Together, the two components support the vessel’s propulsion and onboard energy requirements, with connectivity enabling system information to be monitored through compatible displays and navigation equipment.

Built around the principles of simplicity, flexibility and efficiency, eCore offers a scalable architecture that can be adapted to different vessel configurations and energy requirements. Boatbuilders can begin with the DC system for essential requirements and expand the installation with eCore AC where additional onboard power management is required.

eCore offers advanced monitoring and intelligent load management to help vessels make more effective use of available energy. Power-saving and load-shedding capabilities can help manage demand, while consumption monitoring and historical data provide greater insight into onboard energy use. The system also supports customised HMI designs for individual shipyards, remote monitoring for advanced troubleshooting and integration with third-party multifunction displays from Raymarine, Garmin and Simrad/B&G.

For boat owners, the result is simpler, more intuitive control of onboard energy, allowing them to spend less time thinking about available power and more time enjoying life onboard. For boatbuilders, eCore provides a scalable platform for integrating electric propulsion and energy management from a single technology provider.

The introduction of eCore marks an important expansion of ePropulsion’s technology portfolio, building on the company’s expertise in electric propulsion to provide boatbuilders with a more comprehensive solution for the next generation of electrified vessels.

Visitors to the ePropulsion stand, Power 113, at Cannes Yachting Festival will be among the first to discover eCore and explore how its intelligent approach to energy management can support boatbuilders, cruising yachts and multihulls.
